[Cascata Games]
MobileWizardry in association with Cascata Games signs an agreement to license the Deity 3D engine for the development of a first person action game on the Palm OS® platform.

Neil Wooding, Cascata's chief executive officer, commented:

We are excited to work with MobileWizardry on this action game. The Deity 3D engine they have designed allows us to create an unprecedented visual 3D world on the Palm. By using the Deity 3D code as a base for our graphics and gameplay, we can focus on the game storyline and the graphics, and create a quality product in a very short time. MobileWizardry is well known in the industry as an expert production studio of talented developers. Cascata is proud to associate itself with such an organisation on one of its first game titles.

MobileWizardry's Deity 3D engine will be the intelligence behind Cascata's exciting first person action game, due to launch in Autumn 2002. The gameplay will offer challenging tasks within a game universe created with stunning colour graphics, visual effects, and full support for additional level packs.

Aaron Ardiri, co-founder of MobileWizardry states

We are proud of our Deity3D engine, pushing the limits of the PalmOS® platform to their outer reaches. Our engine has been specifically optimized for m68k; and, we have made great advances to convert the engine to run in both native x86 (intel) and arm cpu modes - ready for PalmOS® 5 - due to be released shortly by Palm and its licensee's.

This has been made possible due to an excellent architecture that is in place - which, is currently being migrated to other platforms. We believe our Deity3D is one of the first PalmOS® applications running natively on three CPU architectures - a great accomplishment in itself.

The Deity3D engine provides three graphic quality modes, as shown below, however, also supports 320x320 hi-resolution displays, and is backward compatible with units running PalmOS® 3.3 providing 4bpp grayscale.
