MobileWizardry in association with the Handheld Media Group Inc. and Palm Nordic announce the first demo coding competition for the PalmOS® Platform. Developers all around the world are invited to program "demos" - to show off their technical and artistic skills; aimed specifically for an embedded system as available in the Palm m505 handheld device.

Aaron Ardiri, co-founder of MobileWizardry says:

As a developer for the PalmOS® Platform since early 1999 and after developing applications/games such as LodeRunner, Lemmings, GameBoy emulator Liberty and Deity3D - pushing the Palm® to its limits is something we do on a daily basis.

PalmOS® devices are definately capable of doing demos, the original PC demos used very similar hardware (processor, gfx); this is a great opportunity to host such a competition! It wont be easy, but, the results will amaze many.

Various demo categories exist, focusing on size (256b, 1K and 4K) and a general category (no size limits). The competition sports great prizes, including Palm m515, Palm m130, Kyocera QCP 6035 and the recently announced Sony NR70 for overall first, second, third and forth placings! Each category will have a first, second and third prize base from various sponsors:
